Route 66

Postby Dragonryder » Thu Mar 04, 2010 12:21 pm

Not sure where to post this so I'll try here.

I was wondering, has anyone ever traveled Route 66 in their camper and if so, where did you camp. From what I've seen, most of the road is down some lonely areas so can you just pull off in one of the old building sites and camp for the night or do you have to get permission? Who would you ask? Just wondering. I have tried to read and enjoy looking at pictures of Route 66 and just wondered if anyone has tried it.
Have a great day and hoping the weather is great no matter where you are!!!

This site (see link below) has good information....and there are a lot of others if you google "camping on Route 66"....there are a lot of personal recommendations. There are folk on this site who have "teared" Route 66 and we/I look forward to hearing what they have to say......I do know one thing...NAPSACK will make the trip....one day!

We had hoped that Route 66 was to be our first trip but life just got in our way. :( . The good thing was that we got to do part of the Lincoln Highway and Route 6 :) so please make the trip for all of us dreamers  .
