12 ft Winter Warrior build

I posted some pics of this a while back but Mike and I have done some work on it since than. Well I have the frame being built now so I thought I'd post the pics again and hopefully keep you all posted on the build. It's liable to be a slow on though.









She's going to be 6' wide and 12' long so she's pushing the TTT envelope a bit.

Whew - I read the title at 121 ft and thought - my goodness that's plenty long enough!

No, I disagree. Our Widget is 6 wide and 10 long, I don't think another 2 feet will make yours "out of whack".

How tall are you planning on making it? Looks good, Gary .......

Except for the extra width and length it is the same as the first 5' high at the hinge. The other big difference is the tongue box to drop the front profile, the AC will be in it. It has a full bed 54" with 9" down each side to make it easier to get into the galley area and the wall at the hinge point to divide the galley from bed area. It also has the small table with the porta potti in one of the seats the other one will swing up so I can get by out of bed. Oh yeah this one has side doors too.

Well I guess there is a lot of difference but the outside design is about the same.

I really enjoyed seeing your trailer in Minden, I'm looking forward to this build. I think your trailer had a lot to do with me wanting to build the Boxcar (which BTW is 6.5'x11' ).

I've always admired the boxcar too.It's as unique as Mike's Winter Warrior design. I enjoyed watching you build it and I'm hoping to post the build on this one better. I didn't post much on the first cause I didn't really know what I was doing. I had Mike's pics and had no idea how it would go togeather from one day to the next.

Since I did the cad work on this one I found out how lucky I was that it worked the way it did. Designing a top hinge back wall is alot trickier than it looks.

Looks like you are putting the side doors on so you don't have to pull up the back everytime you want to sleep somewhere, am I right?

Actually Jeff we can do that in the old WW through the back door and should be able to do that in this one. The side doors are just for a little easier exit from bed if we want to go that way. We'll probably try to make some sort of screen covering for summer ventilation at night too.

also the side doors make the under bed storage easier to get to.

Is the cargo box at the front going to be a separate piece? or is the roof going to have another hinge at the joint?

Yep the box is part of the front of the trailer so there will be another hinge there but I have an idea on how to keep the water out. If it works out I'll have a gutter like what is on the trunk of a car under the roof door so any water that gets in will run back out. But I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do it yet.
