I have a 25 ft. travel trailer that will most likely be sold tomorrow. I am considering a teardrop. I have posted a couple of questions to help me learn teardrop life. Feel free to make suggestions in helping me with my decission making process. There are a lot of post that have been EXTREMELY helpful to me.

I see there are no Maryland'ers registered for your 2010 gatherings as of yet. I might have to get a teardrop just to represent Maryland at your functions!!! (that's a good enough reason...... right?)

OH... and... your teardrops- SIMPLY EXQUISITE!!!

ELEGANT FORMS OF BEAUTY!!!

Hi. I was beginning to think no one wanted to say hi to me. Either that or no one was interested in teardrops in MD.

I will hopefully be going to SC on the 27FEB to buy my teardrop. On the way back up to MD I will camp one night (probably in a Walmart parking lot in NC or VA) to try my teardrop out.

I would be interested in seeing your teardrop and meeting. About how many people are in the Tearjerkers Chesapeake Chapter? I'll keep my fingers crossed for a gathering with other teardrops and teardroppers. That would actually be the best way for me to learn the ins and outs of teardropping.

I live in Southern Maryland-St. Marys County (across the bridge from Solomons Island).

Thanks for the warm welcome to this forum. :)

TheOtherSide,
Welcome to the forum from Altoona Pennsylvania. We built our Tear in 2008. We love the ease of a Teardrop. Really no work at at all except for opening our EZUp for shade. Do you plan on building or buying. Have you joined the TearJerkers yet. Im sure they will be having some gatherings soon. I cant wait to camp.
Enjoy! :applause:

I plan heading down to SC and buying my tear on Feb. 13 or 27, 2010. After the 8 hour drive from MD to SC (and assuming I won't be coming home "empty hitched") I am planning on giving the tear its trial run on the way home (good excuse to go camping after all). I will most likely be staying in a Walmart parking lot (just in case I need something) because I won't have supplies with me.

I haven't joined any clubs or anything because this idea of selling the 25ft travel trailer and buying a tear instead just came about only about 1 month ago. My first idea was to get an RPOD but while looking for RPODS I saw a TEAR for the first time. I QUICKLY became interested in TEARS. It seems to be the right thing to do because it is all just falling into place as we speak. The 25 ft'er has someone coming with cash today to buy it. Pretty sure bet cuz a mutual friend of ours knows the TT and me (and of course the price is right).

Is MD and PA in the same chapter of Tearjerkers? If so, hopefully we will meet REAL SOON! Can't wait to meet the teardroppers cuz they seem like a nice group of people on this forum! And... boy are their tears and ttt AWESOME to look at!!!

Hi 'Side. I'm from Maryland myself -- Bowie. [Edited -- he answered where he was from in the time between I loaded the topic and replied...]

Some of the PA gatherings might be reasonably close. I'm looking forward to my first gathering too. There's a Chesapeake chapter of the Tearjerkers?

Gary... With the beds in front of the double door, do you still use the double doors? I'm sure you CAN...? Excuse me if the question seems odd. I'm new to all of this and I'm curious.

Welcome to the forum, from a former Maryland'er, Salisbury, Chance and Deal Island. Still have family there. Look forward to seeing your build as it progresses.

Hello from SE PA. We just joined this forum recently as well. Best of luck with your sale and tear purchase!
In addition to the other Tearjerker chapters, also check out the NJ chapter. I believe they have a gathering in south jersey in earlly June.

We belong to the Liberty Bell Chapter. But everyone kinda jumps around tp other chapter gathering. Weve been to one gathering last summer and had so much fun. Made some good friendships from it.
Good luck on your purchase.

Other Side (of the bridge?) -- If you mean (from my pictures) the way my bunk beds are in front of the back double rear doors, we open and
close those doors to get to things stored back there, but generally they stay closed, especially when anyone is sleeping. We use our trailer both for camping and for toting around our outdoor movie equipment, and when doing that, we sit the popcorn machine on one of the bunks -- without the mattress it makes a great counter top for making and serving popcorn and sodas.

Doris -- that sounds like fun and something we'd like to do. Not sure if kids are invited to these get-togethers though... as our 8 and 10 year olds get older it will be easier to find ways to ditch them for a night or two, but for now we have to bring them along when we do anything.

Count me in Doris!!! I should have my first tear in 2 or 3 days! I'd love to start camping with someone that knows more about tear life!!! If we do an informal trip and we are going to consider kids.... I vote YES! Bring the kids... If anything we can watch them and laugh (I think kids are hysterical to watch).

Digimark- Yes that was what I was trying to find out about the back door! I was wondering if because of the bed there you lost the use of the door for anything worth anything. Even if you did lose the use of the door for anything much, atleast it could be a fire exit!!! It looks like a cozy camper to me!

Let's do consider a get together! I think everyone is itching to get started camping. I know I am... Just give me a second so I can get my tear (and then fight with the MVA for a tag!

You dont have to just go to the chapter they asign you to, you go to any gathering. They have em all across the USA. Just click on the TearJerkers link in the above heading, bottom line.
Enjoy,
