Thanks Thomas....however, it's a typical Scotty down there, some had deeper drop down floors, the one I am sort of cloning is 5". I didn't follow all the given dimensions, but instead, put in milk crates and spacers with foam to determine the right height for what would work for me on the table, seats etc....Doug

Chris....if it were only the last bits of detail....The big dollars and time/effort are about to happen with the siding/ paint scheme...and a screw up there will show big time as that's what everyone sees first. And then there is the door and screen door...that I have no parts, jamb, frame etc... for other than the latch. In the meantime...I'll make up a cocktail in my aluminum tumblers and enjoy! Doug

I am here to remind you that you've done this before... you have the experience that will see you through; the experience to see when you might be about to make some screw up, beforehand, then be able to correct the course and save the day!

We've still got a whole set of the alum tumblers up at the family cabin, use them regularly when we make it up there. Ours are a bit more vertical, tapered only enough to get them off the form they were spun on. They don't stack at all.

So Wolfarmer, good to hear you got that 'broad' through the saw and the rig is about ready...

John...sounds like the engineer coming out in you....these are actually kinda crappy...look OK and stack...but the bottoms aren't dead flat like they should be, I'm thinking pressed not spun, like the original Bascals were or may have been. They're Chinese... I think the real problem with the aluminum tumblers were...they sweat like there's no tomorrow! Probably why during the late 50's early 60's that coasters were so popular. Maybe I should look for some of those...like an early Playboy type thing. I've got formica...no problem for rings, but ice melts incredibly fast in them! A major downside, I guess I should just drink it faster....Doug

Took some sheet metal classes back in collage, I think the most fun thing we did was spin aluminium on a lathe. Don't think I have the cup any more. Much more fun than making a course thread bolt. They do sweat, and cool your hand off, but light and rugged, which was good for me when was a kid, didn't have to worry about breaking them doing the dishes. Not sure I'd want to trust the anything coming from China these days, probably anodised them with something you don't want in your water... (now that I've taken all the joy out of your new tumblers)

I know that part of the build. Just remember, you'll get to camp in it soon!

Some of you might remember those anodized tumblers when you were a kid. I grew up with them, so thought it would be perfect for the trailer. I remember having Kool aid and Fizzies in them. Found some new repro ones on E-bay...the originals bring pretty good dough, and I didn't think I needed them that bad. These will work for me.

I had to go look to be sure my memory was serving me correctly and found this to confirm .....
