how to contact Mike Schneider? - Benroy plans sold on ebay

Postby elsquared » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:06 pm

Hi all-

I'm new here, but can anyone tell me how to contact Mike Schneider? His "Generic Benroy Plans" are being sold on ebay as part of a CD collection of old trailer plans, mostly from Popular Mechanics, Popular Homecraft, etc. I thought he should be made aware of this.

I don't have a trailer yet, but I hope to learn a lot from those more experienced. The Weekender looks like it's a possibility, at least for my first unit.

Regards,
Larry

Generic Benroy Tear Drop Plans

Postby Pam M » Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:06 pm

While we are on the subject of the Generic Teardrop Trailer Plans.

I sincerely appreciate the time you have put into this project and have offered them to everyone, they have become invaluable to me.

I am making a 5 X 10' Benroy and my challenge IS I take your 8' and modify everything from 8' to my 10'.

Perhaps..... Has anyone ever made modified plans for a 10' Benroy that are a simple as yours to use, or do you have a 10' set of plans?

Think of you about 200 times each day when I am in my garage with my teardrop project.

Steve, find me a set of great plans for a 5'x10' Benroy and I will think of you too. The key word is "of" not "about".... LOL :)

Pam,

The 5x10 is very simple to get out of the 5x8. Just add 2 feet somewhere in the middle...

I've built a 10' long Baja Benroy, but it was a bit higher too. You can see it in the Hall of Fame...

Hey Mike,

I used Grants side profile for all my side-view detais, I did my own plans for the frame, cabinets and the little details, but your plans were the invaluable groundwork that put all the ABC'S of construction together. Just wanted to thank you again for making them available free of charge to people! I referred to them time and time again in my build, and they are a really good reference for anyone wanting to build a teardrop!

Thomas

So, someone was selling Mike's plans, that he gives away freely on this forum. That chaps my ass. :x

Mike, make sure you put copyright markings on all your plans, on every page. © Mike Schneider, All Rights Reserved.

I agree with CD. If you prefer, you can add a footnote on each page that reads "one time use only". With the two together, you could definitely press charges and shut him down. But, another idea might be to imbed the source of the plans (this forum address) in several places within the plans. It's too late to do that to the ones that were sort-of 'stolen' for sale; but, it could be used on the ones that get downloaded from this forum. That way, the person would have to intentionally delete your address notes and copyright privilege notations and he'd have to work a bit to find them all and do that.

It is possible that the person who is selling the plans only has one set and really forgot that he didn't buy them, especially if he bought others.
