2010 Teardrop Trailer $7,500 OBO *** SOLD ***

Postby jim615 » Sat Mar 13, 2010 1:12 pm

2010 Teardrop trailer. This trailer is made of cabinet grade Baltic birch. It has a queen size Serta memory foam mattress, nice interior cabinets. Galley has an Engle M45 refrigerator freezer, WFCO 25 amp power convertor for battery charging-12volt lights and fan-and 120 volt ac. It has a Dexter torsion axle with three chrome wheel tires. LED lights in galley and cabin. The exterior is maintenance free clear anodized aluminum. The camper is 5ft wide x 10ft long. This is a hobby for me, and I enjoyed building it, however I'm not much for camping. So it's time to make room for the next project. This is new, never used. Will sell without the fridge ($6,800). Jim
Tell us something about yourself. We prefer to discus some topic with new comers before posting a sale. Like how did you come to build a teardrop camper?. Did you use plans? You say it is a hobby. Have you built any others? This will go a long way in helping your sale!
why did you choose this design?

Well I joined the forum in April of 2009. I am retired and have been building things all my adult life as a hobby. Mostly automotive related and woodworking projects. I came to build the Teardrop after visiting the folks at SoCal Teardrops last year. I have followed this forum ever since. The profile is the Grumman 2 that I found in the Design Library.
As you can see I didn't join the forum just to sell something I have been visiting daily for some time. Any questions, please ask. Thanks

I notice a trailer for sale below mine( 79 teardrop ) the seller joined on March 11 and posted the same day.

Sharp looking -- reminiscent of the So-Cal.

What trailer chassis did you start with?

Good luck with the sale.

I made the frame out of square tube and used a Dexter torsion axle and had it powdercoated in anthricite, a dark metalic grey. I bought a lot of the hard parts from the Guys at SoCal. Mike and Gabe are really good people. Thanks for looking

Did you get to camp in it at all? Or, was it more about the build, for you?

Are you going to build another?

Hi, thanks for the compliments. I sold it to a great guy in Cedar City Utah, first name Gary. I never used it, I enjoy the build process very much but my wife still works and camping alone isn't as much fun.
I am thinking about an off road trailer with air suspension, three way fridge, on demand hot water, outside shower, etc. It's in the thinking about thinking it stage.
This forum was very helpful during the last build, I have Steve's manual and between both of those and the guys at SoCal it came out nice I think.
I will try to have the next build on this forum if I can figure out how its done.

Thanks for looking, Jim
