i've seen one's made with steel all-thread and two pieces of angle iron and a nut welded inbetween on the far end. and the arm on the other. the end pointing out under neath the trailer is squared off for a wrench. so when you spin the all thread it lowers the arm. not sure what these type are called anyone have a picture they can post? its what i was thinking of adding to my camper.

Expensive too at 78 euro for the pair. ;)

That's the kind we have. They also work well for leveling the camper.

We use that kind too. Two in the back, the tongue wheel in the front. It's plenty stable and simple for people like me to operate. We have a $30 scissor jack from NAPA to lift up the trailer to level, then we drop the jacks to keep it there. The jack fits in the tool box up front and it can be used if the car gets a flat, too.

I was going to get 4 matching scissor jacks from a pick-a-part place here. They sell them for $6.50 each. My camping will be at NASCAR races, which usually means in the middle of a grassy field. I was at HF today and they were on sale for $9.99 each. So I picked up 4 and will store them in the tongue box with the battery. Should help level and stabilize.

We got a set of Lynx leveling blocks to put under the jacks so we don't sink into the ground when we camp on grass.

They could also go under the tires if we need extra contact with the ground if it's particularly soft.

I mounted the BAL stabilizer jacks on each corner of my chassis before ever beginning work on the TD. They assisted in maintaining a sturdy, level work surface while framing out the floor & construction of the TD. Got mine from JC Whitney when they were running a sale w/free shipping. Ended up getting both pairs for only a little more than I would've paid for one pair with S&H. They're normally around $70 or so a pair, not inexpensive but well worth it.

Naw, never used them. They came equiped on the tent trailer I had but never used them that time either. My feeling is they just add weight.

I have 2 in the rear of the Weekender. I use them to level the trailer and to stabilize it. Easy, light, and they work great.

I put them on mine, like most, just two on the back. Like stated before, I don't want the entire camp ground to know what we are doing when we get to "playing around" in there.

Use three and you can level in any direction. I will if it works as I think, be able to level using the air shocks and the tongue jack.

I have one on each rear corner, being an offroad tear there is no guarantee of level ground so the jacks are great when it comes to getting the bed flat. Also means I can jack either wheel off the ground to change it.

Cheers

Yeah, I really hate it when the trailer bounces up and over the chocks and we wind up rolling (or rather bouncing) down the campground road. Chaining it down certainly makes sense!
