Pet Cool installation

Those of you who have a pet cool, I would be interested in how you installed yours. I have some ideas however, I welcome your advice and/or tips....

well, I put my in/out on the front of my t/d because of dog hair.... better to put it underneath and maybe use some extensions on the inside to get if off the floor in the corners... I'd prefer not to have the in/out next to each other, but some have done that and it works ok for them (through a window)...

Ours is in the rear..... with a vent out the side and PVC duct-work on the inside.

I used insulated hoses (still have them would like to get rid of them) to run up to one of the windows with a fitted adapter.

I don't have it installed yet, but my petcool will be in the cedar chest tongue box I'm building. The picture is the back of the chest. There are doors that will open for the intake and exhaust side of the condensor.



The supply air will be ducted through the back of the chest into the teardrop where it will split to two registers in my headboard cabinet. The return air will be ducted from the galley bulkhead under the teardrop to the wood chest.

Because ours is a 4x8 and limited space, we only bring it when needed and used insulated hoses.

Mine travels inside the trailer, then when parked it sits on the trailer tongue. I ran PVC ducting through the bottom of the trailer at the front corners, and actually used paneling to fabricate ductwork inside the trailer and used an actual air vent. A couple pics are in my gallery. Probably not enough pictures to be clear. I am not in a position to upload more at the moment. But feel free to ask questions and I'll answer as thorough as I can.

what is a petcool

It's a small 2,500 BTU AC/Heating unit that is built primarily for dog houses. The trick is trying to adapt it to a teardrop.

Did any of you relocate the controls for the Pet Cool? I am thinking of installing mine in a box on the tongue but would like to have the controls inside the cabin so I don't have to get out to shut it off in the middle of the night.

If you are just wanting to be able to cut it off and on, and not have the ability to change the thermostat, you can get a remote cut off like what they sell to turn your christmas tree lights off and on.

That's just a really good idea! More info to put into the pet cool folder!

Ours is mounted in the galley and butted up to the foot-board of the bed, so we have access to the controls, BUT, they are not the easiest thing to reach.

This works like a charm for an easy cut off and on........
