Steve Smoot starts his camper

Well folks, I have finally started...I assembled the 1720# HF trailer today...boy, now I remember why I am not mechanic... :oops: I think all my knuckles are bloody...

I decided to go stock. I had enough trouble just following those dang instructions...I tried my way first, then I remembered what I always told the guys in my drafting class..."if all else fails, follow the instructions"... ;)

Good Start Steve

Hi Steve: Real mechanics rarely get skinned knuckles. I have been an auto tech for 33 years. We use air tools. I put my HF frame together in about an hour with a couple of wrenches and several sockets and a 3/8" impact wrench. Knuckles heal up. As long as you have not lost any fingers, it is a sign that things will get better as your build progresses. Good Luck Steve,

OK, I have been trying my hand at Google Sketchup. Who says you can not teach an old dog new tricks? :thinking: (And. Thanks to Mr S. Stewart, I was able to post a picture here :thumbsup: ) The body is about 114" long x 72" wide x 74" tall.

I know it leaves a bit to the imagination, but it looks good to me... :applause: I will admit, I did the original design work on my drawing board, but I will try to make improvements with Sketchup...

Thanks Steve - no go to the 3d warehouse and grab a HF trailer to mount underneath your design

Here is my original design. It has more straight lines, but I like the curves of the one above. It's still too early to tell. You just never know. :thinking:
