Hi Bill, glad you plan to join us for the day. I'm sure whatever you bring food wise will be eaten.
We do however start a food thread so everyone can post what they are bringing. This way we don't have all meat and no veggies or deserts.

Good Morning All;
I just ran across this thread and think I might make a "day trip". I finally picked up a trailer frame (TSC 4x8), without a floor so I feel sort of "official".
My camping gear doesn't exist at the moment (long story), but it has been a while since I've been anywhere and it might be time for a drive. The only problem might be if my nephew moves back from Tulsa that weekend. Have to wait and see.
It would be well worth the drive to meet some of you and see your tears. I've yet to see one "in the flesh".

Butch that is a start. I remember taking my frame with a plywood floor and temporary hand made rip saw cut 1x4 stake sides to Lake Bernice on the Grand Lakes of the Cherokee. So do not feel you need a finished trailer. :o

:shock:

It was solar powered ( on top of the blue tarp a 43 watt solar panel and jumpstart battery ). Not a great trailer but weathered the storm and kept the rain off.

My first was Beaver Bend in my tent. ;)

So come on down visit and camp ( check with Linda on spaces available ) and enjoy! :thumbsup: :applause:

:thumbsup:

Pat;
Your trailer was still much farther along than mine is, since I've just had it two days and have been helping my brother build a shed. No time for the trailer just yet.
Since I'm building a tear I don't want to buy a tent, sleeping bag etc. again and don't have any available to borrow. However, I did find a motel near the park with very good rates. If I decide I don't want to spend a long time driving, I can get a room. It is still worth the trip.
So I hope to meet you and a bunch of others in a couple of weeks.

We had a couple of empty sites but once again they have been filled.

I sure hope the weather is nicer for us this year than last. I think we all need to get out and camp. :worship:

James Worley's dad is going to be joining us but will be in a motorhome. I reminded James tha the motorhome needs to be parked behind a tree so we can't see it and he agreed. :lol:
Hopefully when they arrive Friday there will be one of the larger sites for the motorhome.

I'm jealous because quite a few of you will be arriving on Thursday and I can't. Jobs sure can get in the way of fun.

See everyone next week.

I'm getting excited to go. I'm going to get my lights working on the trailer today and start packing it. A deer hit it last fall and tore off the axel , fender, and lights . The trailer was only 3 weeks old and only had 2,000 miles on it.
Bad deer, stay away this year!
I am leaving Minnesota tuesday night around 8pm and hope to be in Texas by thursday morning to visit my son at Texas A&M. then it's off to Beavers Bend on friday morning .
I am looking forward to warmer weather and getting out in the trailer again.
