Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby PaulC » Wed Mar 24, 2010 3:35 am

Dear Cathy,
We appreciate any and all pictures from our many
valued members on the T&TTT forum. Pictures help to clarify and bring
life to our place on the web. However you posted a large picture that
doesn't fit well on this thread and members are forced to scroll
horizontally to see the whole thread information on every entry.

We have adjusted the size of your picture to reflect sizing rules as they
are expressed in the album section of this forum.

There are many picture resizing programs on the web. However after some
evaluation we would suggest that in the future you try to use Tinypic Click Here
program, if not the available edits on the program you already use.

Please go to this link Click Here to see advantages and a short tutorial of how to use TinyPic if you have questions.

I like the fake looking ones, they remind me of the old tin types that were hand colored.

Paul...thanks for resizing the images...I was offsite and grabbed the URL's without thinking...TinyPic is a great find. Tried it out myself. Easy to use...I'll add it to my arsenal!

I have been thinking about this for a while and I guess I come from the old school where the photographic process is primarily behind the view finder, or in the dark room. I used the gama system (similar to Ansel Adams Zone system) and large format 4X5 view camera. Yes I have a good digital camera and while it is good for snapshots and the family I still prefer the sharpness of large format, the composition of a photograph that has been pre-visualized and carefully executed.
There was an exhibit of Ansel Adams photographs at the Toledo Museum of art and I was very upset because they lit the photographs too softly. With his (all B&W) photographs there is detail from the whites to the blacks and that was lost.

Max Tharpe was a neighbor of ours back in Statesville NC when I was kid. He always had a couple cameras hanging around his neck. He was a freelance photographer, and took pictures of every thing that moved and some that didn't move...some of you may have heard of Max. He is about 90, and he just moved back to Statesville. Here is a link about Max and his photos.

Mandy,

No, I was like 13 years old when we lived next to Max. My little sister was 5 years old and Max took lots of pictures of her. ;)

I truly enjoyed these pictures. They are very cool. Either here or on the TearJerkers board someone posted the So-Cal gathering
and all the photos looked like they were done this way. I would like to learn how to do a picture of our Teardrop like this.
2006 13ft. Escape Travel Trailer
2006 8ft. Homebuilt Teardrop
