Wishing My wife and Una Good Luck - Back in The Show Ring

Postby Classic Finn » Sat Mar 27, 2010 5:39 am

Well its time to share this with all our friends. Tomorrow morning my wife and Una Gal the Samoyed will be attending an International Dog Show which is to be held about 4 hour drive from home. We havent had a chance to attend very many show so finally its back in the Show Ring.

Below a couple of pics of Una as a pup.

Its been some time now since Una was in the show ring due to total change of her coat and then being ill for 2 weeks due to Kennel Cough which is the same as the flu basically.

So tomorrow they will be in the Show ring together once again. Us boys are keeping our fingers crossed for a smooth and rewarding outcome for both. Una is only attending her 4th time in the ring and previous shows went fairly well.

The wife has spent and spends lots of time teaching and training Una.

Best of luck. I would hate to be the judge for any of the breeds where they all look alike. I see that a lot with Westies and Wheaten Terriers. Cairns come in any color but white and they often change color as they get older.

Deuce at one year and the darker Deuce at 5 yrs. He is closest to the camera. He looked more like the girl next to him when she arrived. But she was in season and started getting darker within two weeks. He thinks black is beautiful He is even darker today)

Heiki, what a great looking dog. Good luck on the results of the show. Hey, have you heard of he potential teardropper from Russia? He wants to build a TD, perhaps you can give him some pointers, from across the Finland and Russian border. Woof, woof, white dog............

Thank You everyone for all the nice words and wishes. Here is the outcome for Una & my wife from the recent showing.

Out of 60 + samoyeds. Una received a "Very Good" judging and to our surprise she placed 3rd in the Junior Bitches  The judge who is a veteran in this field had a new junior judge with her so together they went thru everything possible to all. So a Red Ribbon was won in the 1st sector of the judging and a Yellow Ribbon for 3rd placement. :applause: :applause:

She even gave a mention of Unas coat being as "flattened today". instead of fluffy and ..... :? :o But overall great comments were given. Samoyed have a double layer of fur. And as Una had recently dropped or shed her previous coat it is that the bottom layer has not completely grown back as of yet. Thats all we can figure. ;)

But not bad since Una has not been in the show ring for at least 4.5 or 5 months. And this is only her 4th time in the ring. The last show she also received a Red Ribbon.

The next showing is in 2 weeks.

I,ll post a pic or 2 after an hour or so.
