Very creative use of the kidney shape Doug. I like it  Danny

You should have bought a cheap clock, and melted the bottom half -- a little Salvadore Dali element to your sixties retro look. Plus, then it wouldn't have to work.

Steve E and I hit about 7 different suppliers today to pick up the aluminum siding, trim, and other materials. It's .025 with a 4" break pre-painted white. I came home considerably lighter in the wallet, but all equipped to finish off the siding. Major thanks to Steve for the use of his pickup with the overhead rack on it. Came home empty handed on the hub caps...rats! Doug

Hey Doug,
Besides the clock, I think the fan is Really nice! Won't be a "Hunter" would it? Siding looks nice, can't wait til you get it on. But, then this thread will be about done

Awesome.

If I could be assured of finding a smooth version of this .025 in exactly the same color to use on the roof of my teardrop I would use this brake'd/break'd siding on the sides (although I would prefer silver or light grey... hee.)

I'm liking that siding too Doug. Is it available in a 'stainless' look? It would sure would give an authentic feel to a modernare style build as well.

You are an exceptional designer and your fit and finish is impeccable Mr. Hodder. :applause:

I hope to get down to meet you soon.

Cheers, Dave

Hi Doug: I like that siding. If I wanted the same thing, what is it called so I could see if it is available here near me and does it come in brushed mill finish? The Nomad is "Looking Good". Don't finish it up too soon. I enjoy the updates and the progress you are making. So, slow down !!! LOL 8)

Here's the Sunday update, 24 hours early....It was a very busy day here at DougKraft. Steve E, Mike A showed up about 8AM. After some arm waving and lots of measuring, we started sticking up siding. Rich and Penny (Rocketgirl) showed up about 11. The extra hands were welcomed and Penny cooked up lunch as well as giving me my "trailer warming" gift. It's a vintage cocktail shaker, ringed glass. Many thanks Penny!!!!

We finished about 5 and have it all done except about a 16" strip on the front bottom and a 12" on the rear bottom. I only managed to blow a staple or 2 in the wrong place, but it remains to be seen if they are visible once the trim is on. As a +.....we didn't manage to kink a piece of material at all and the 11' pieces are a hassle to move around in my shop.

I used a 1/2" pilot bearing bit in the variable speed router and dialed it down to about 15K rpm. The windows/door etc... cut out like butter and didn't gall the bit at all. It's all going to take some final fit and trim, but the hard part is done. MANY MANY thanks go out to Steve, Mike, Penny and Rich for their contributions today. I couldn't have done it without all of you! Doug

Chris, check with that guy in Hemet that Gage spoke of, I'm sure that they can roll it for you, don't know what colors he has however. I had my choice of either white, or the back side was an ivory. I thought the white was a crisper color with the teal I'm using. He had it on a coil so could roll out however much I wanted. I'd also check with Cliff as he recently bought some material with a break on it to do the repair on his trailer.

Dave....I'm not sure how well it would work on a highly polished metal. The guy that rolled this did leave 2 scuff marks on the material, that hopefully I can polish/clean up. I think a lot of it depends on the quality/age of the dies/ equipment that are rolling it.

Down Under...it could easily be done in mill finish. You need to find someone with a roller that can do it and has material on a coil if you need longer than 8'. I got it from Cardo in Sacramento.

Len has a technique that works well for him, but I didn't have a brake to do it on. If you do have access to one, it might be worth a try. His have turned out really nice! Doug
