Jess did some drawings of this design, although he used an interesting track design to lift the center section rather than the hinged bar shown in the video: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=29786. I thought it was cool, but having seen the video, I'm salivating a little.

I just watched again and noticed that the dinette seating is really sideways. That may be somewhat uncomfortable, but it saves alot of space. And, I would guess, the dining would be mostly outside.

Maybe the dinette bench could slide out from the wall, and diners could straddle either end.

I think you have to consider the amount of time you spend doing each thing. I usually cook outside, so being a bit uncomfortable when it rains would not bother me (eating inside)... sleeping situation is important, as I do that for hours per day.
