So, not surprisingly our fine Empire State can be confusing in the red tape.
If I get a kit trailer from Northern or Harbor Freight:
-I should register it when the frame is complete, but not the teardrop (less headache, right)?
-What else will I need to do?
Your help is greatly appreciated..... this is all so new to me! I'm nervous!

If you do a harbor freight trailer, all the paperwork you will need for the DMV will be given to you at the time of purchase.( title, proof of purchase, etc.) just go to the DMV and register it as a utility trailer, NYS doesn't care what you put on top of it.They don't ask, you don't tell.
