Here is picture of our youngest daughter, taken two years ago...doesn't she look so happy...even if she is dancing with her dad...I look happy too, well...
Image

anyways, we go out to the daughter's house today for lunch. I noticed a nice looking 1200 Harley sitting next to their deck.... I ask when her husband had gotten a Harley? No one wanted to talk to me about the Harley..

So, after lunch I ask about the Harley again. I want to know about it, ok...

remember when I told my daughter "you stay off them Harley, you hear me"...she would always say " I will not ride with them boys, I promise"...what she failed to tell me was, "cause I own my very own 1200 Harley and I like to ride it"...

Yea, we are the last to find out that our sweet little 32 year old daughter bought her very own harley 5 years ago, but kept it at a freind's house so her parents would not find out.. ;)

I will forgive her, if I can keep it at my place. I will shine it up and ride it just enough to keep the battery up...

A couple hundred miles every weekend ... yup, that's what it takes ... a couple hundred miles ... ;)

So, does she always appear to be wearing too much clothing for the weather? You know, to hide the tattoos from mom and dad?

I am 46 and still have a problem with my mother wanting me to quit riding motorcycles. She really hated it when I owned 5 of them. Two street bikes, a KTM 250SX for me to ride on the dirt and two dirt bikes for my daughters.

I think both of my daughters will probably own motorcycles at sometime in their life, but I hope they ask me for opinions on what they should get and not hide them from me.

Well, she says that she does not have any tattoos, but don't know if I should believe her...

That is funny.

I've rode since I was 16 years old. Took my children on vacation on the bikes with my husband. My son grew up to love bikes and owns one. My daugher doesn't like them and wants me to quit riding.

I'm so happy tonight because we found out today that my husband could drive again after his motorcycle accident. (he lost his sight)

Hope your daughter has many years of safe riding.

That's a great story.

It also fits that Harley rebel persona. I say this is a win.

Motorcycles

Postby Alfred » Sat Apr 10, 2010 10:39 pm

Hey Steve,

That's a great Father/Daughter picture and a great story!

I was joking with my Wife about getting a motorcycle a couple of years ago, she said my motorcycle days ended (before they ever began) when I got married and had kids! Doh!

Anecdotally, my Brother has been known to ride 'cycles', and he is a tattoo artist...He's the hip one of the family.

It is easier to ask for forgiveness, than permission... :)

i find this hysterical!

i can so relate to your daughter. i do this with my hubby all the time. i bought a camera one time and kept it from him for about 3 months, then i wanted to upgrade the camera, and i bought it this past may. i ended up regifting to him as his christmas present. the first thing he said was "i know you did not get this for me, how long have you had it hidden?" lol

i have also been know to do this with computers, even the property we now live on, a van, and i am so sure there are many many other things.

thanks so much for sharing. lovely pictures of dad and daughter!
