I think all the rain gathers in North East Texas. :rainy: They seem to have rain even when we're dry. Of course we're pretty wet this morning.

I think It was literally raining cats and dogs when I drove back from Denton last night/this morning. First time I've ever had to use fog lights on the car.

Well, we made it home just before noon. Had to drive through some heavy rain just out side of Rockwall.

Sure Dave and Danny, it did rain, but not till last night for a little bit and then again this morning.

Friday was real nice, then we had a bit of rain just before dinner on Saturday, however it didn't stop thef time around the campfire!

It did start up again overnight and through the morning. When it let up we decided it would be best to tear down and pull out in between storm fronts.

Thanks to Scott and Cindy for putting this together :applause:

James, you sure fry a great catfish! Thanks to both of you!

Thomas, although you still have a way to go, I do think you could give Warpony a run in the "who can build the biggest fire contest!"

It is always great to chat with the Dog!

And The Bonds, great to meet you both, and look forward to seeing again at other gatherings!

Didn't take many photos this weekend, but here is one of the park entry and one of this guy Scott said we had to go see!

Hey guys, I just got in and unloaded. Man, I hope someone got fired over that pilgrim! That is honestly from the mind of Rod Serling!

I think it was a great gathering and it was fun makin new friends, Shawn (Sean, Shaun) was a cool kid.

James thank you so much for kicking some serious boo-tay with that awesome fish fry. That was alot of effort on your part and it was very appreciated!

Well, I made it home with no major catastrophes, but it was kind of harrowing. The good news is that by the time I got home my "front end issue" had stopped squeaking, the bad news was that it was now a solid grinding LOL. I sounded like a prop plane by the tine I hit Rockwall. You can grab the wheel and just shake the rotor around the spindle because ~the bearing~ was so gone by the time I pulled into the driveway.

Ironically, that was not even the worst part. For some reason when I pulled into get gas just outside of Sulfur Springs, my brake pedal went to the floor. I was thinking... now that's something different! The fluid was full. I am thinking that maybe the bearing grease got out and coated the brake pads or something, I'll tear it down once it dries out. So anyway I thought it's only 75 miles back to Dallas and honestly you only need the brakes to stop, not to go, so we took off. The pedal came back when I first started it up, but as soon as I got to the stop sign it was completely gone again. CD followed me to Greenville where he turned off and I drove all the way home no problem. I live right off the freeway and just used the emergency brake to stop. I caught 3 out of the 4 lights I had to go through while they were green though, so it worked out. Even with the teardrop in tow it stopped ok just using the E-brake. I am gonna go through the entire front end before it goes anywhere else!

I just downloaded the pics, so I'll sort though em and post up in a few.

Glad you got home safe and sound Thomas.

So the mystery is solved, it was the bearing. I guess YOU do know more about cars than the photographer! :noyes:

Another great SC gathering!

Danny, Friday was warm and sunny, and so was Saturday up until about 4:00. Then it rained for about an hour, so most of us did our cooking until it stopped. We had fires both nights. The rain Sunday morning didn't start until after we all went to bed.

This morning was the worst. We had to tear down and pack up in the rain. We had planned to go listen to Scott preach at his church, but we were soaked by the time we rolled out at about 10:30.

So, for about 80-percent of the gathering, the weather was perfect.

James made some of the best fried catfish I have ever had.

Thanks. Yeah, but I think that just means I have just owned more old cars LOL  8)

Yes, I think we all wanted to see the sermon this morning but we were a pretty ragged wet lot with all the rain.

Here's the impromptu gathering pic:

Thanks to all you guys for coming – the weather was excellent until the rain later in the weekend. Mike and cookie had a wonderful time – this was cookies first time to go camping eve! Today at church she announced how she had met some wonderful people in teardrops. James - you da’ man. The fish was awesome. JT (bond) taught Georgia how to build (and poke out) a fire and his wife made some out of this world scalloped DO potatoes. CD and Thomas kept us entertained for most of the weekend. I got a few picts that I’ will try to upload later this evening. Again, thanks to everyone who came

BTW – the sermon was recorded and should be online shortly.
I can’t remember what the payoff was with the wheel bearing or suspension debate – do know CD?
Just how much wood did ya' go through? :D
