Hi . looking for any Teardrop American owners. If you have one you are in a very smal group. I am trying to compile a list of owners of this rare trailer . Built in Washington state in the early 80s. It was blow molded of ABS plastic . Equiped with Gull wing doors. Owners please reply....Boxcar

Well that's cool. Your post brought a lurker. Welcome "db rob". Can you post a pic of your trailer? It sounds rare. Post it in the newbie section so everyone can see it and meet you too.

Wow! I just saw your post count and not your sign up date. Still pretty cool to have your first post after 5 years!

And he has pictures too! I thought I remembered seeing this model teardrop somewhere before - and it was in your album Doug.

I Have a Teardrop American...

Postby Jbsails » Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:37 am

I just purchased a Teardrop American which I was unable to identify until stumbling upon this great forum. The previous owner did not know the manufacturer. I am down in San Diego and am awaiting transport of the trailer from the Northwest near Spokane. Mine appears to be in very nice original condition and I am anxious to get it home.

All that said, I would enjoy communicating with you all.

Also, if anyone knows a reasonable method of transport, I would be appreciative.

I saw one of these come up for sale here in Australia recently. It was in very good condition and the seller had no history except that it had been in storage for many years and was apparently only used once.

Nice!

What's the story behind the 6 other trailers shown "For Sale" in the bottom right corner?

Postby boxcar » Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:56 am

Finaly. I no longer feel alone. Just a little info for ya. T/As were only built for 1 year 1989 The company went into recievership in 1990. Home port was Wanachie Wa. I am curently Trying to track down the owner of the company through the secritary of state in Wa. No luck yet....We need to keep in touch. Great to se some still exist..Of course being made of ABS the only thing that will out last them is a Twinkie....Here is mine.
