Bloomin tipical, She who must be (insert derogotary comment here) has decided to pull the paper off the spare bedroom wall, instead of just painting it. This has left, cavernous holes where the plaster used to be, so ive been filling and sanding a bit in there instead of TDing
BUT
I managed to spend an hour or two in the garage when she had her 2 hour afternoon powernap. Ive managed to get all the trim rings routered and glued around the window apperture, and then, with the log burner stoked up, started with the first 3 coats of sand/seal. This year with a bit of heat in the garage, it has soaked in and dried within a couple of hours

Ive also spent a bit of my scrap car weighing in session, on a new MAN TOY, A new sliding compound mitre saw, 310mm blade. Got it after offering an ebayer an of auction sale, Two months old, never been used £65 Bargain, less than a third of the new price
Image
So as tools are not counted in the build cost, im now up to £115. Im going to slow down on the spends if im to come in less than last years build

Not managed any work on the tear over the weekend, as ive been repairing walls in the spare bedroom where out gert managed to pull the plaster off with the wallpaper [smilie=econ_steamingmad[1].gif]

BUT

Ive managed to hunt down another bargain, A small 20" x 20" x 20" fridge, with freezer compartmant, Only 6 months old and mint condition. Its only 240v, but power consumption is low enough to run from an inverter when travelling or from my inherited suitcase generator. All for the bargain price of £20 on Ebay. I had the only bid, Serves them right for spelling Frudje wrong

Hopefully tomorrow i will get chance to do a bit more building

Nice score Steve.
It's fustrating how life gets in the way of build time. I've had my fair share of it recently. Now we've got lighter evenings it makes it easier to do stuff after work

Ahh, ya just gotta love good old UK DIY. There's ALWAYS an interesting story to go along with it. I think all of us could do with a mate like you who just seems to get what they need for bugger all. Enjoying the build very much.. and tell our Gert to step away from the DIY

 I am guessing I will become a she who... if I take the paper off the walls so I am heeding the warning..... Gotta do my own fixing if I break it.

You new build is looking great. Love the finds too.

Had a few hours working on the tear today. Started by marking out and fitting some of the framework for the galley, then resized the maple worktop that came with my workshop roll cab, to make the counter top,. Then came making the cupboard framework out of the old bunk bed frame and fitting the doors salvaged from an old caravan, There is still a lot of work to do but the overall look isnt too bad

All Snap-on tool dealers will be able to get it, as they use it as counter tops on the roll cabs

Ive made the cover for the left hand side, wher the battery and electrics will go, and a draw for above it. The only problem i have now is the wide range of colours of the woods, so apart from the maple counter top, i think painting will be the only option, BUT what colours i dont know
If anybody has any ideas let me know.

I would say look for the darkest colour you have in the wood of the build, then get a matching stain/varnish and paint the rest the same colour, if it does backfire, you can still slap paint all over it.

Hope that helps.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.
