FOUND!!!--partially built or near finished teardrop-TEXAS

Postby aprazr56 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 2:12 pm

Hello,

I am in Fort Worth, Texas and can't seem to find anyone or anything that resembles a teardrop (prefer a Woody). I have a 1970 Coleman pop up now, but want to trade or buy outright an un-finished teardrop (at least a 5x10-prefer 6x12) and would really like to find the 'Cabin Car'. Even if it needs restoration.

Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
'Blessings' to all

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Thanks! I have already seen this one but it is a 4x8....a bit too small for my 6'2" frame (lol). But THANK YOU for the help!

I really want a Club Car - guess I will just have to build one from scratch.

Check with Charles and Linda (Coca Cola Teardrop) down in Lufkin. Charles is a top notch builder and has constructed many trailers. They have a couple for sale currently.

Here's one.

Finally got one !!!! YEAH !

Postby aprazr56 » Sat May 08, 2010 10:18 am

Thanks for the help but we finally made a deal with a great craftsman in Houston for the cabin car conversion and picked it up a couple of weeks ago. We plan on changing the color scheme, but have already tried it out.

We will be at Joe Pool Lake gathering in September.

Will post pics as soon as mods are finished.

Thanks again to all!

Don't leave us hanging. Post some pictures now of the before. Cabin cars are always neat to see.

Just about there.........hang on !

We have been working rampantly on the 'changeover' of the color scheme, interior/exterior and adding a few things (drapes on the windows, wallpaper, etc)......but will use it this weekend (Memorial Day weekend) at Joe Pool Lake on the Cedar Hill State Park side.

We have only had 1 night in it, but plan to 'get used to it' this weekend.

I have to say how much I admire the Builder of it........it's already in the 'Hall of Fame' on this site. It is Ken's 2+2 Cabin car that we have purchased and are doing a few modifications to......will now become the ROUTE 66 Cabin car conversion........we are simply loving it !!!

THANKS KEN - you did a WONDERFUL JOB !!!!!

Pics are coming......just another day or few........Happy Camping to all!

FINALLY - Got some pics of 2+2 Cabin Car-Route 66 conversion

Postby aprazr56 » Mon Jun 14, 2010 11:51 am

Hello All!

I finally got a few pics in our album for all to see. This was our 1st 'full trip' and stayed at Joe Pool Lake at the Cedar Hill State Park. It was HOT, HOT, HOT and the CHIGGERS were in season and ate more than we did (lol).

Hope you all enjoy. We are looking forward to the cooler weather in September at the same lake...different park.

See ya'll then !

Thanks Chris....guess I am still having trouble posting to the thread...????

When I try to it does not have an upload feature, however, just a destination spot...????

But THANK YOU, anyway! Get them all if you have time! (lol)

Gregg and Cheryl,

Your new teardrop is drop dead gorgeous! I know you are proud of it.

I look forward to seeing it at Loyd Park this September. (We'll be there but our teardrop may not be finished.)

Are y'all coming to LCG V in October?

Hey Tom,

We are moving July 1st, so we really have our hands full for the time being.....but will consider the trip. Just need cooler weather as my asthma gets tooooo rough on these 100+ degree days (lol).

We WILL be at Lloyd Park for the September gathering, though. We look forward to meeting everyone there!

Thanks for the comments.......wish I could take ALL the credit, but we simply changed the color scheme and added road map wall paper and Route 66 curtains......hence the Route 66 2+2 cabin car was BORN !

Blessings to all!
