Hi Everyone - I've been looking around for the last couple weeks and must say this is an awesome forum.
I've decided to build a teardrop on an existing HF fold up 4x8 trailer that I own for transporting my mini buggy. We've found enough local places to ride that I don't need to trailer the buggy everywhere so this trailer can now be used for the teardrop.
I've got an 8 year old daughter and a 6 month old baby girl - my eldest is excited to build alongside dad and will be my primary camping buddy. We're going for a 5x10 pr 5.5 x1(ish) Benroy profile I think. Going to mock up the side and see if it meets approval from the kids and wife (CFO).
Along those lines, we're going to go as in-expensive as possible (budget build) and add things after we've campable. For instance, we're going to pre-wire for 12V and 110 but add fixtures and converter later when budget allows.
Only caveat is that my wife wants to be able to keep parking in the garage... hmmm. one stall is my work shop, one is for my buggy and mis stuff and two are used for our cars. My car can stay outside while we use the bay for the build but I'm thinking I will probably end up in her space more than a little. Summer heat here in AZ - why am I starting now? Oh well.... better start sooner rather than later.
Should be a fun ride - we'll see where this leads us. Looking forward to sharing with you all.
