My 6x14 Toy Hauler conversion

That sounds cool. I am finally starting to get a picture of what i want to do. I will probably be nagging you alot lol. How is the clearance under the trailer? Do the tanks interfere? i am thinking i will frame in a corner shower commode and like your system. i will put a small sink counter in the space left from the door to shower.

Yes mine has a small sink in it I just haven't took any new pictures. Infact I've finished out the closet and plan on tileing the floor today!
As far as clearance under the trailer goes.. Well that is a bit of an issue. The tanks were a little lower then I wanted but I tested it with me driving on some very uneven ground with my neighbor watching and they never got close to hitting. Even going over some spots where my flat beds drag in the rear. But then I decided to take the stock rims/tires and put them on one of my utility trailers and get some radials and aluminum rims for this trailer.. Well the radials are a little shorter even with the same size 205 tire.. So I called and told the guy to order me som 225s to exchange these 205s with.. That should raise me back up to where I was. Dexter makes a kit to adjust your trailer height on Drop axles.. It pretty much moves the axles from overslung to underslung.. So the axles are under the springs vs on top.. Its 45.00 an axle. I might do this if its much of an issue. I'm going to try the larger tires first since I was already changing them. My holding tanks are very shallow also tallest one is only about 8-9" The trailer frame is 4" So there isn't that much hanging down. From what I've read the Dexter kit is very easy to install and for only 45 an axle seems like a cheap enough fix. Knowing what I know now I whouldnt' have ordered one with 6" drop axles lol I really didn't thats just the standard.. I could have saved money if I would have gotten straight axles or even just 3" drop axles

Well guess its about time I posted an update. I've got a lot of little stuff done over the past few days. I'm happy to say I'm down to pretty much just some trim here and there. I've even got a start on that. Here is a few pictures of the progress.
Picture of the closet now with the paneling up. Notice I cut a slot in the lower panel and installed a piece of Clear acrylic so I can see the water level in the holding tank. Not really as fancy as one of those high dollar monitor panels and sensors but gets the job done lol Besides I already had the Acrylic. BTW that metal door is a wall safe. Its not that heavy. Its pretty much just a lock box. I needed something to be easy to remove so I could access the plumbing behind the wall but at the same time I wanted to use as much space above the holding tank.. So I robbed this out of the house haha. Its made pretty much flush so you can hide it with a picture. Don't worry I ordered another wall safe to replace it with. Even though the picture hides the hole I just use it to keep my night stand gun out of the kids reach..


I Removed the bed frame and took the plywood off to paint it. Here is a couple of the trailer with the bed out and the bed by itself

My trailer has been done for a couple weeks. I have been waiting for some new tires to come in. I changed my 205s out for 225 so the trailer would sit up a little higher. They came in so I loaded the RZR up, Filled the holding tank up and drove it around to see how it pulled. I have to say it did great.. Seemed pretty balanced and pulled nice and straight.. I drove about 100 miles or so. Just making a few stops here and there around town. I wanted to make sure everything was right before we pulled it on a long trip.. Now I'm ready to go Camping!

Thank!, I'm very happy with it. I looked around at Toy haulers and even cargo trailer toy haulers and they a 3x what I have in mine. As it sits I have about 6k in it. That was starting with a Brand new trailer. If I would have bought a factory made one.. It would have cost 15-20k Min, and would be a bigger, heavier trailer. My neighbor is building him one now lol. My sister also wants one. She is looking for a used one. Much larger with the living quarters already in it.. She is finding out that prices are pretty crazy. Finding a good used trailer built like you want for a good price is like looking for a needle in a haystack..

Thought I'd post and update.. We took the trailer out this weekend and stayed for a few days.. It did great.. Night and day compared to our tent. It was great to have our own bathroom after a long ride.. We got back one night after midnight.. I just flipped the switch and fired up the hotwater heater.. Some of our friends jumped in their RZR and drove the mile or two to the bath house and waited in line .. We were showered changed and in the bed before they even made it back lol. We both took showers every day for 3 days. We ran the fantastic fan mainly at night and played the radio here and there.. At the end of the trip we still easily had 1/3 our water in the tank.. And the batter was still showing 13v. So it all worked great. I have a few minor things to add.. Mainly a towel rack and folding shelf by the bathroom door. As it is now when taking a shower you end up setting your towel and change of cloths on the floor outside the shower. We had our easy up setup but it would be nice to have an awning on the trailer. We had a couple hard rains going in and out of the trailer in the rain with no awning wasn't the greatest.. Besides those two minor things I'm happy.. I had several people stop to look at the trailer. Everyone seemed to love it. Even the guys camping beside us in a nice motor home came running over the second I let the back door down.. They said they had been wanting to get a look inside for the last two days lol.

Haha Well I might end up selling my Conversion and building one with a wider rear door I added a long Travel kit to my RZR and now its a pretty tight fit getting it in the door. I don't really want to go to a 7' wide But I might have to.. So if anyone in the North Alabama area is looking for a Small toy Hauler I know where you can get a good deal
BTW my Rear Opening is around 62"wide by 72" tall

Here is a couple updated pictures of our conversion. Decided to keep the trailer atleast till this winter.. We have a couple of trips planned and I don't have time to build another between them. Trailer still works great just wish the back door was a little wider.
I added a small fold up table between the closet and bathroom door. This should give ups a good spot for odds and ends. Figured it would be a good spot to empty my pockets at night and to set a change of cloths on while in the shower. I also made some curtains, window covers what every you want to call them. They attach to the wall with steel buttons. I did it this way so they dont stick out much. It allows the bed to fold up with the covers still on the windows. Besides that everything else is pretty much the same.. I also to a couple pictures with both beds in place.

Thanks, LoL its all about priorities. My main wants was bathroom and place to sleep. So thats pretty much 90% of the trailer. We have a few feet infront of the bed for sitting room. But really even when its raining we end up all sitting under a couple of easy ups shooting the breeze. If I end up building a wider one this winter It will be laid out pretty much like this one.. With the extra width I can turn the beds the other way to give us a little more floor space. But the bathroom\closet will stay the same. If I go to a 7wide it will probably have a 6" I beam frame vs my current 2x4 tube frame. So with that I could probably move the freshwater tank under the trailer to free up some closet space. Downside to that is dry camping in colder weather could be a real issue. As it stands I can just dump a cup of antifreeze in the grey and black tanks in cold weather. With the freshwater sitting in the closet its pretty safe from freezing.

My biggest issue, challenge how every you want to look at it is having all this stuff fold up out of the way to fit my large SxS in. Once the SxS is out and the beds are down it seems like we have such wasted space.. But I really can't put cabinets or any kind of storage stuff anywhere cause it would all have to come out when its time to load up and head out. You could fit a ton of stuff in one of these if it wasn't a toy hauler.
