Got my first Dutch Oven

Found this at an estate sale today:



They had tag for $20 on it but talked them down to $15. It doesn't look like it has gotten much use though it does need a cleaning and seasoning. At 4qt it seems kinda small for two adults and four kids but it is a start and I am sure big enough for many recipes.
Is anyone familiar with this brand, or any other useful info really.

Print this off and add a 3 ring binder and you will have all the info you need to become a 4 star chef.

I have 3 sets of these type on line cook books in a 3 ring binder. It stays in the trailer and always within easy reach. It is a great research tool if you are planning a menu for a several day outing. The hardest part is deciding which recipe to fix they all sound so good.

Congrats on the DO! I actually just got my first cast iron too: Texsport cast iron - an 8qt dutch oven, and a large skillet. Don't know what kind of quality Texsport is, but hey the price is right, and its heavy.
Don't have a pic of the DO because it was too big to season on the grill, but heres my large skillet and a double-mountain-pie maker*

I collect Griswold but a no name DO will cook just as well. Check to make sure the inside is fairly smooth and that the lid fits, no wobbles.

In my office, someone leaves Martha Stewart magazines lying around, and when I was microwaving my pre-made butter chicken, I flipped though and came across a recipe for Shrimp Tikka Masala cooked in a Dutch oven. If I can make Indian food one of those, I am so sold. I get my Indian fix currently with boil in bag stuff, but it's not ht e same as making it myself.

Found the "maker" http://www.texsport.net/index.php, looks like the store brand so to speak. Funny thing is it looks like they operate out of NY.
