Extreme Makeover: Jewel Box edition

Postby oklahomajewel » Sat May 08, 2010 10:47 am

Okay ... I'm working a 2nd job and it's spring in Oklahoma so the rebuild schedule is not set in stone.
I will update pictures when I can.

I'll salvage what I can but will be building a better PRETTIER Jewel Box. BLING BLING ! I am planning to add a little less than a foot in the back, and the AC will mount on the tongue ..... more ideas are on paper right now.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Will this extreme makeover edition have a bus load of crying interior designers, the whole town in hard hats, a c&w singer singing about mom, sweathearts leavin, and a heart wrenching sob story?

And not forgetting at the end "MOVE THAT BUS "

Julie....now that you have torn it down....what's the wood look like? Can you see places where water got into it? Pay attention to what you did the first time and if there are signs of potential water damage, think about how you can do it differently this time around. Looking forward to seeing what you build on your extreme makeover! And if that Yahoo shows up with the megaphone yelling at everyone, please feel free to cram it down his throat! Doug

Good luck on the rebuild Jules! After using Jewel Box I for nearly four years, I'm sure you have some great ideas for changes! Look forward to seeing Jewel Box II at LCG.

Wow Julie, it looks like the Jewelbox got hit by one of those tornadoes -- about an EF2. :o

Are you going to simplify as you expand in size? Don't make it too heavy for your car.

Doug, one of the primary reasons Julie is rebuilding is water damage. She's learned a lot about how water gets into a TD from her first build. I'm betting on the new build to take good advantage of what she's learned.
