septoplasty surgery

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby LDK » Sun May 09, 2010 8:51 am

I had septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction done at the same time. It doesn't hurt unless I bump my nose. What bothers me more than anything is that my nasal breathing is about 95% blocked. The nasal splints have a breathing tube attached to them but they mostly stay clogged it. one more day and it's over. I just hope it works. From everyone I've talked to that has had it done, 2/3 said it was worth it and about 1/3 said it was a waste of time. I guess time will tell. ---Larry---

Mine clogged immediately and stayed at the way the entire 2 weeks (I know I said 6 before, what was I thinking?) they were in.

I looked like Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel walking around with my mouth open so I could breathe!

I had the ITR at the same time as well. My current Dr. told me that portion of the operation looked successful. Some good news.

My wife's cousin had the same operation and it was a great success, so everyone does seem to have different results. Good luck, I hope it works out for you!

I hope this afternoon finds you breathing well.
If I knew retirement would be this much fun, I would have done it right out of high school.

Well so far so good. I feel alot better now since they pulled those tracking probes out of my sinus cavity. I get so much air through my nose now that it makes me light headed. As of right now I think it was a total success!!!!!! ----Larry---
