Coax hook up

Postby Reddiver » Mon May 10, 2010 10:49 am

I am looking for a way to bring the cable hook up male side to the outside of the trailer.. So in campsite I could hook up. The only one I have found is kind of a big rectangle . I am looking for something more inconspicuous.
I hope that makes sense.

I took a double male apapter used to join two female ends.

I drilled a very snug hole thru the sidewall and used epoxy putty to afix it permanently.

Think I have a pic back in a minute !

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Did I mention a small rubber protective tip can be slid over it when not in use. Use the flexible plastic paint to matck the trailer and you have a
no-see-em port.

The little bins in a good hardware look for protective cap or tips. Mine actually came on the end of some 6' survey stakes I purchased to use as the hoops fot the privacy screen roof in the picture.

I used a connector that came in one of the outlet cover looking rectangles.

I simply unscrewed it, threw away the plastic outlet cover, and mounted it in a bracket I'd found.
A fender washer, or just a small metal washer would work as well.
They make a "cap" for the connector that simply screws on and keeps the weather out.

Hello Everyone,

Another option that might be easier to find is a "Coax grounding block", I have seen them in ACE hardware and I am sure the big box stores have them also. The beauty of this arrangement is you do not drill on the side of the trailer and also you do not have a wire dangling. This arrangement will give you a more fix and clean location for your coax entrance point.
