Busted window leads to positive outcome

Wednesday eveing we had a windstorm blow thru. About 8 p.m. I heard glass break. A branch took out the other glass window on the door of the trailer.

Yesterday I went to HD for another piece of Lexan; came home with a 5000BTU Zenith AC ($99).

So I'm walking round and round Amber Rose; scratching my head (and other areas) when the solution to several problems dawned on me . . .tonguebox!

It will house the AC, store the propane bottle; hoses and extension cord, and a few other items. Things in valuable cabinets inside.

I have also decided to ditch the water tank and hand pump; keep the hose connection for campgrounds and I use jugs of water when dry camping anyways. After the gathering June 4 weekend, I'll start and have it done by the Oregon Father's Day gathering.

Now I know you will do it right so I am not going to tell you that air conditioner exhaust gets really hot and I wouldn't put my propane near it without lots of air around. Or a good insulator.

Miriam, The propane will be partitioned away from the AC. Bottom vented in case of a leak. It will be like two separate boxes in one.

Just curious why an A/C is need in Washington?
Summer is just around the corner and I'm still waiting for Spring.

Correct; I spend time in the SW; rockhounding. Last year, was well over 100 in Nevada and AZ; could wander about in the morning or early evening only. A few nights were so warm it was impossible to sleep.
