Woodie trim ?

Somebody in here said that he screwed the trim to the sides to hold it while epoxy set, Then removed the screws . OK why remove them if they are deep enough to plug the holes and sand down the plugs

Possibly the trim wasn't thick enough for countersinking and plugging, or just their preference.

I understand if the trim is not thick enough . I am just wondering if they are afraid of screws backing out or staining the wood.

that's the reason you should remove them.. they will bleed and stain the wood even if they are covered with plugs. besides, there's no need for them once the adhesive cures.

Reddiver...that may have been me, with the screws on the Road Titan. I milled the trim down to like 5/16", didn't want a thick trim piece...and used a stainless screw to hold it in place till it cured. After I removed the screws, I had to sink the holes a bit more to accept the plug snugly, tapered plugs. I've been reusing those screws for a number of projects, leftovers from a boat project. Doug
