Well it looks like we are going to have a fairly small gathering but that's ok.
I cancelled the lower fir campground so we will be enjoying just the upper fir.
We are moving Natalie's stuff to Tyler this Saturday then I am loading the truck with camping gear and we are going somewhere for a few days. Don't have a clue where. Thought the hill country but we really havent decided.
The wedding is 3 weeks away and Cloudcroft is not too far after that and I am definately looking forward to the cool mountain air.

We still have room for a few tears and tents if anyone wants to join us.

See everyone soon.

Hi Gage,
It is easy to find. I will post directions again in a couple of days.
I will tell you that directions say the lower fir campground is 1/2 mile after turning onto 244 but it isn't that far. The turn was missed by several (us included and we knew where we were going)

Hi Lee,
Of course there is pot luck on Saturday unless everyone votes it out and I don't see that happening  we like to eat too much

I think we can go ahead and start talking food if you want. If you have a dish in mind just go ahead and list it and we can go from there.

Man it is so hot and dry here I wish we were heading out to the cool mountains soon. We chose not to go camping for my vacation. Working around the house and will go hang out at our camp at the river for a day or so.

Well being how we don't do the Dutch Oven thing. Tanya say she'll do green beans and maybe a cheery pie. :ok:

Since I'm not a good camp-cook, I'll be bringing homemade cookies again this year. For the DO cookers, please keep in mind that we frequently have fire restrictions here in NM. Currently there are no fire restrictions in Lincoln National Forest. You can check for restrictions/closures here:

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Thanks for update on Fire Restrictions Barbara.

That is one thing I start watching when it gets closer to time to head that way.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Charles and I are bringing an extra canopy with sides and will set it up in the best out of the way place but on pavement for showers. We will bring 2 or 3 solar shower bladders and if anyone else has some feel free to bring them also. This will allow us all to shower at our convenience instead of going to the next campground and paying to shower. I will bring some sort of table to put in the canopy and bungies and or hooks to hang towels and clothes on while showering.

I will bring wet wipes and hand sanitizers for the pit toilets again this year as well as extra toilet tissue.

Hey Linda, just wondering if you got enough people to cover the cost of the campground or do we need to send you a little more money? Just let me know.

Hi Woody,
As of now we haven't quite covered the cost of the upper fir campground. I was waiting to see if anyone else decides to go at the last minute.
As it stands if the attendance stays like it is now it will cost each reservation an extra $8 for the weekend.
I do not want anyone to send any funds to me though. I'd rather wait and see what happens and if we don't add anyone then we can take care of the rest when we get there.

At least gas prices are going down a little which will help us all out some.

Thanks for asking

Woody, I'm glad you asked. I was wondering the same thing myself. Only 24 days till Cloudcroft. We need one of those countdown thingies on here. If I wasn't helping my niece move on the 19th, I'd be packed and ready to go.
