WOW, what a crash!!!!!

First off, nobody was seriously injured. Amazing good luck.

This accident happened last week on the North Dallas Tollway -- a road I travel regularly. There are traffic cameras all over that road, and they caught the action from multiple angles.

Can you imagine being on the other side of the highway and having this happen in front of you?

Man, that little green car was COMPLETELY the cause of that crash. The truck driver did way more than necessary to avoid crashing into the car, and consequently that over-correction could have (may have) cost him his life.

Some "spaining to do"

Postby eamarquardt » Mon May 31, 2010 1:45 pm

I'd say the fellow/fellowess in the little silver BMW(?) has "some splaining to do".

Anyone hurt or worser?

Incredible footage. So many factors involved to have such a spectacular crash and nobody dead. Wow. Just wow.

Makes you wonder what is going through some peoples heads while they're driving doesn't it?

That is unbelievable! I feel for that truck driver. I wonder if the driver that ran him off the road fell asleep or was drinking or stoned. And its amazing that the oncoming traffic was able to keep from smashing into the sliding truck. I'm glad they have the cameras so the truck driver is not a suspect. He or she has been through enough trauma as they all have.

The car that hit the truck actually bumped it first, and then it looks like the driver panicked, or something broke, and the car turned right into the truck's front wheel. It may have been a tire blowout that sent the car out of control to begin with. It's hard to tell. But look at the very beginning of the accident, and you will see the car just graze the truck near the trucks back wheels, before swerving to the right, and then back into the truck.

My best guess is that the car had a blowout, swerved into the truck, the car driver slammed on his brakes, and physics took over. NEVER slam on the brakes with a blowout. Your car will do just what that car did.

There is a small silver-looking SUV that basically goes right under the airborne truck just after it goes over the wall. THAT driver was quite possibly the luckiest person on the planet that day. :phew:
