Celotex insulation

Postby BillZ » Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:23 pm

The local used building materials place had a bunch of Celotex 1/2" rigid foam board insulation. It was in 4'x4' sheets although it originally may have been 4'x8'. It has the foil covering on both sides and the Lowes logo along with "Super Tough R".

I thought it would be good for my build so I picked up 15 sheets with some of the credits I have accrued from volunteering. I just wanted to know if others know about the stuff and if it actually is something worth using. It isn't listed on the Lowes website-probably discontinued.

I can't say I've ever used it, but 1/2" is pretty thin, where are you putting it? Or are you planning on doubling up?
Ignorant doesn't know any better, Stupid knows better but does it anyway.

Probably double up where I can. I got it for about 1/2 of what it would cost new so I didn't want to miss getting some if I can use it.
