M&B, we're gonna leave on Wed. June 30th and spend the night at Brantley Lake State Park. It's just north of Carlsbad. Don't know anything about it but we have reservations. We'll see y'all soon.

One day closer.

We are planning on leaving Thursday night and maybe staying at bottomless lakes outside of Roswell Thursday night late. Do we have electrical hookups at Upper Fir? Ronnie

Services & Amenities:
Within Facility

* Garbage Cans
* Grills
* Group Grill
* Group Shelter

Note: notice there are only a few "S"'s after each listing.

* Restrooms - Vault Toilets ( Men and Women - one each - no running water )
* Water Hydrant

I did not think there was any electricity in the Upper Fir Campsites. There wasn't electricity in the Lower Fir last year. Everyone that was last year did fine and prepared. It was fun camp gathering and very beautiful. It is the High Desert ( tree covered area well above the desert floor below ); so remember the altitude of 9200 feet above sea level. Wonderful night sky. Lots of great things to see and do.

:thinking:

:thumbsup:

no electricity Ronny. Several of had generators but tried to keep them out away from everyone as to not bother with noise.

Don't forget your sunscreen and your hats either. You can get sunburned easily at 9200 feet. I forgot both last year and I sunburned even though it was cloudly. Evenings and early mornings can be cool too so a jacket is a good idea as well.

Hey Everyone,

The Cloudcroft Gathering is just 2 weeks away.

So do we have anyone else wanting to go?????????????

here is the list of those attending. Please let me know if I have missed anyone.
1. Coca Cola Teardrop (Charles and Linda) Teardrop
2. Woodyperk6 (Woody, Tammy and Morgan) Teardrop
3. Woodyperk6 (Haley, Cat & Libby) Tent
4. The Biz Man (Lee & Carolyn) Teardrop
5. Gage (Gage & Tanya) Teardrop
6. razorback (Larry & Macy) Teardrop
7. Jazzy Lynn (Barbara) Teardrop
8. Nobody (Harvey & Lenora) Teardrop
9. Rockin Robin (Ronnie) Teardrop
10.mrsanderson(Paul and Laura) Teardrop
11. CASHCOW (Mike and Brenda) Teardrop
12. ARKPAT (Pat) Teardrop
13. davel (Dave & Cindy) teardrop
14. ssrjim

If we do not have anyone to add to the list then there is an additional cost of $8 per reservation to cover the campground cost. I had hoped we would have more campers but $23 for 3 days is not a bad price.
We will take care of the balance there.

If we have anyone join in at the last minute then I will adjust the cost accordingly.

Check in is at 12:00 noon on Thursday July 1st. Last year some of us were allowed to get into the campground a little early.

There is a lock on the gate going into the Lower Fir campground. I tried calling a few minutes ago to see if the lock code is the same as last year but no one answered. I will post this as soon as I have it.
The gate must be closed and locked at all times.
I will tie balloons at the gate to help everyone know they are at the right place.
The entrance into the Lower fir is about 1/2 mile from Hwy 82.
Just drive through the Lower Fir campground and follow the road to the Upper Fir campground. There is also a gate going into the Upper Fir campground. I will find out if that gate is locked and if the same code is used.

Charles and I will be leaving home on Wednesday morning and will arrive in Cloudcroft Wednesday evening. We will stay in one of the other campgrounds just past the Lower Fir Wednesday night.

my cell number is 936-635-2596 and Charles' is 936-635-8898

I will post the gate code as soon as I have it. Hopefully this evening.

Please let me know if yo have any questions.

It'll be my luck that some kid will come along with a BB gun and pop all the balloons before I get there and I'll just keep driving East and end up in Texas. :lol:
