So been ravenously reading the forums for about a month now and decided to de-lurk and join the discussion.
Basically a retired bored now unretired 40 y/o from California.
My background is in IT but grew up with a father who was a General Contractor. I worked every summer for him while growing up and managed to get fired every year too...
Recently worked with him to remodel my in-laws house so they could sell it and it was the first time I was able to appreciate the skill and art he has with wood working.
So how did I get to here? Well I bought a HF 4x8 trailer to move the in-laws "stuff" out of my house and into their new one. After doing so I started doing searches on converting it to a camping trailer.
Then I found links on TDs. From that I stumbled in here and have been reading nightly ever since.
My plan is to build a Weekender starting this week for my annual week long guys camping trip. Its a trip that has been a yearly event since 1987, with guys from College. The Weekender will be my proto-type to build a full-on Tear in the fall with my father. I want to build the "family heirloom" and this is a project that he and I can do that will showcase all of his talents and give me something that I can say "yeah... I built that with my Dad!"
Anywho... longwinded intro but there it is....
