Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Mike: It's a 5x8' Red Trailer model that they aren't selling anymore. Well, the trailer is black but the company name is 'Red Trailer'. It just seemed to be a bit sturdier than the Harbor Freight. (A little more weight and a little more cost, too.) You probably know that Red Trailer sells from the CT, PA, OH, and CA states.

PS. I wonder if my garage will ever look that clean again. :o It is so-o-o covered with wood, parts, and sawdust now!

SHARON! SHARON! SHARON! SHARON!

You are seriously kicking some boo tae in the teardrop building department! I hate it when my thread reminder expires! I really like what you have done with your insides. I never owned a car that didn't have it's special tricks, so don't worry about the midnight potty, only good friends will know! I just read the last three pages of your build and I am so amazed and glad to see your progress! Everything looks great! I get spiderwebs on my tear too and I camp every month! Very nice!

Thanks, Thomas and Rian. :)
I guess you could say that I'm a slow but steady builder. Partly due to the upcoming (pun) roof, the outside will be finished simply, with a couple types of paint.

Good job on your build so far... did you try laying down on that bed? do you fit?

Sharon, forgive me for not checking in sooner! I am very impressed with how well-thought-out your wiring is... and too with how well conceived the whole trailer is!

Did you buy an AGM battery yet? If so, what brand and size?

Yes, Mike, I tried the bench beds. The 4" high density foam is very comfortable. Also, I planned in versatility. The benches will make into two cots or a twin, full, or nearly queen-wide bed. The length of the beds is 6'1".

When I planned the cots, I researched the width of sleeping bags and sleeping pads. I measured the two sleeping pads that I was currently using and the 22â€

Hi, Chris.

Thanks for your kind words. I purchased an AGM 55Amp MK battery. I went with the smaller size to keep the weight down. This one only weighs 38 lbs. Before I purchased it, I called a local wheelchair facility and asked them what they used. Even though they didn’t stock the one I needed, they raved about the MK batteries, telling me that those were the only brand that they stocked and that they last the longest and have the longest shelf life. They said that one of their customers actually had an MK last for 10 years.

Earlier in this thread, I listed my requirements with a planned usage of less than 7 Amps per day. Based on that, 42 Amps would be needed for a weekend trip. However, that was probably more than I’ll actually use. Except for evening book reading, I tend to be skimpy with light usage. Therefore, I think I’ll be able to get the equivalent of 4 days from this battery without running it too low or having to recharge it. (Maybe next year, I can add a little solar panel!)

Oh this is the part I've been waiting for....sitting on the edge of my seat even.

A movable roof has been tossed in and out and back in again to my plans, several times. You're alot further along than I, it'll be nice to see how a skilled builder tackles this.

Good luck the build so far looks great!

It's close for me, too. I still have a lot to do to get it to that point and just 2 & 1/2 weeks to do it in! It won't be done but, I'm praying for camp-able. :worship:
