Here's something I'm keeping an eye out for...

It's a mini hibachi, used for grilling or reheating hors devours.
It's tiny, real tiny and is meant to sit in the middle of a circular hors devours platter.
Joanie & I ate at an oriental restaurant that used them...
Would be a cool addition to have while camping.

I've got one of those, got it at a place in Chicago's China Town. I had to buy the platter separately. I can't remember the name of the place, but if I find it I'll post it here.

A double version of the hibachi pictured in the first post was on the counter in most restaurants and bars in Japan back in the 60's and 70's when I was there. They cooked just about everything on those things. In the Saki houses the main thing they cooked on them was chicken livers (liver yakitori) which was very good, while in the bars they seemed to like to cook up squid on them which, when cooked over coals, smells much like burning hair. You just about had to eat some of it in order to stand the smell. It actually did not taste all that bad, especially with a Mizuwari made with Suntory Kakubin....
