Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

In Britain (and Canada, I see) the 'old' system of measurement, involving inches, pounds, furlongs, bananas, etc, was/is called 'imperial', since it was the system used throughout the British Empire.

So now we have the amusement that the only place left supporting the imperial system is America...... :o

I'm not sure if this can be considered hijacking a thread or contributing to it's evolution. At any rate, I apologize to Heikki in advance, and attribute it to Andrew's post. ;) 8)
As far as mechanical fasteners go, we have standard, metric and the long forgotton Whitworth thread. Here's a brief history of the whitworth thread which I was recently reintroduced to in the form of an early MG engine we rebuilt a month or so ago. http://www.enginehistory.org/british_fasteners.htm It was an interesting job doing the disassembly and reassembly of the MG without having any whitworth tools, fortunately metric sockets fit close enough to git er done...

Well, it would be cool to get him a pumpkin pie, but that might be best if he shows up at the IRG (Pamplin Grove) for that.

Oh wow... that's fancy!!!

That interesting how you have the shocks attached to a bar that runs across the width of the teardrop...

Is that an all aluminum frame? I can just imagine what that set you back... Last time I talked to a guy about aluminum, he was talking between $1200 and $2000.

Good job on the tongue too. Way narrower than 50*. I like the tongue jack too. It's like the one on my T@B, with the extra crank to allow me to lift the wheel up and out of the way once I'm hitched up. Very cool.

Okay, you've impressed me so far. Now let me see your woodworking!

;)

Okay Im going to be honest with you Mike and Folks - We have a total of 500 euro or 600 USD aproximately invested so far for what you see in the photos...Dont know if thats much or not but in my opinion no..

I can hardly wait to get the Cragars on and the tires... We are going 14 inch...

Mike - The frame is made of Steel which has been Galvanized

Thank You for the nice comments... excitement is rolling throughout the veins.... :D

You get what you pay for. Now youv'e got me excited. I pickup my trailer Friday from getting sandblasted. I wonder if the wife would get mad if I was welding on Christmas Eve.
Well just a thought anyway.
