Postby queeniejeanne » Sun Jun 27, 2010 5:01 pm

Yes, come hell or high water )(in case of that have a back up campground up the hill called Wildwood). we will be there........peaches, my friend do not wait for no manl. We just returned from Bull Shoals White River campground...wonderful again...friends came down from Branson today and we started with champagne and then beer and wine and like to have not made it out by the 3 deadline....how funny is that...the river was cool and the rocks were hard...so comfortably?????? :? But, yes I digress, we will be at fort gibson at Dam Site Corp Park......get your reservations in my friends. Queenie Jeanne and Dennis

One lane traffic on Fort Gibson Dam (State Hwy 251A): Visitors to the Fort Gibson Dam area should be aware that traffic has been reduced to one lane on a portion of the Fort Gibson Dam. Traffic lights are in place. No loads wider than 10' are allowed to cross the dam. Traffic restriction is due to a major rehabilitation project on the flood gates. The construction project is expected to last 3 years. Periodic closure of the road may be required. Road closures are generally from 8 am - 4 pm. Contact the Fort Gibson Lake Office at 918-682-4314 for additional information.

Just make sure you come in from US 69 or OKAY side of the dam and not the Fort Gibson side of the dam... Queenie Jeanne

take highway 16 from muskogee through Okay, and on to the campground.

from hwy 69, take 62 east to highway 16., at Okay, youtake hwy 251A
east to the park.

I think

Talked to Linda at the park today and she said they havent had any flooding even with all the rain

and the Arkansas River is actually going down a little and that is what usually floods

so we should be "good" for our week end

looks like pretty dry weather

Phil

We are looking forward to it...Phil, we are going up to the Wildwood area to look it over...might hold some possibilities for future use. We have gone camping every weekend, I think but two....this coming weekend was already planned and then we get to come see you all........We won't be there until Friday and will leave Sunday. My brother & his partner will be here that weekend for a production of theirs, but they will remain for 1/2 week after we get back...they are the ones from Tulsa, did you meet them? Can't remember. So many trips. So little time. See you Friday...Jeanne and Dennis

It's not a huge gathering , and a week or so away but I saw some mention about food .... I have no idea yet what I'll bring but may likely do some veggie like grilled or kabob'd squash or some small corn on the cob... yeah, count on me for a veggie .

I think if the weather is dry I might come Thursday afternoon , we'll see, and have a friend(s) that might come on their motorbikes and to the festival and then come hang out at the campground for a bit , but likely not stay the night.

Phil , I doubt that they will even stay for supper... just 3 of them, Kenny is the guy doing my build for me and he might pitch a tent and stay overnight but not sure.

Don't plan on a ton of extra food... we'll see as it gets closer.

Of course you can plan on Gary and I for breakfast on Saturday morning. We should be there early Friday afternoon ... but have to be on the road by 7-8 AM on Sunday. Have to get home for grandson's birthday bash. Trudy
