I'm bummed out....my quilter had her long arm machine go down and won't be repaired in time to finish the quilt I had made for it. It is nothing special for piecing, but the colors and the print is perfect for the new trailer, tied into the curtains and pillowcases, and I was having a lot of fun stuff quilted into it. It really made the interior a complete package. Nothing I can do about it now...she won't have the machine repaired till I'm at the IRG. RATS!!!!! Might not be a big thing to some...but I like having things complete. :( Doug

Knowing your see-it-through ethic, you must be crushed... who would've guessed that a machine like that would glitch JUST before one of the biggest events of the season... and just before the Sierra Nomad's Official Debut.

:NC

I feel yer pain, mang, but as you've said, "Might not be a big deal to some...", so, grab some color-themed material and throw it over the bed and few will ever know. And then at least you'll have a "complete"-looking interior... to most people... which is probably what you were going to do once you ran your options...

:D

See. I KNEW you had a backup plan.

Doug:
If you can, bring the quilt anyway. We'd like to see it and we can imagine the rest. If you can't, bring a picture of it or a sample of the fabrics...A picture would give us a good 'clue'.

Can't do that....it's on her machine and 1/2 way done....and I don't have a pic of it. I'll just have to accessorize in other areas. Doug

Towed fine Bruce....I was concerned about the drop floor, but even at the DMV...no problem. Right side viewing isn't all that great, but I didn't have any problems, just need to remember not to put myself into a situation that I can't get out of. I plan on packing light, or at least light for me for the trip to the IRG. Not dragging up a bunch of iron, I'm sure I could scrounge up a DO if I needed one to use. Not bringing the pizza oven...that's an additional 35#...I am however bringing up a lot of extra lanterns and stoves that are for others. See ya in about 10 days...drive carefully! Doug

Doug,

That's great news, there's always that dark cloud over your build until you tow it for the first time. Glad to hear it tows as nice as it looks.

Not to worry Penny...I"m sure we could scrounge up a 12" DO for pizza if we needed it...I happen to know of someone coming from So. Cal that is more than willing to supply them....  Doug

Here's the last thing I had to do before the IRG....install the nose bra. The camera flash makes it appear that the color doesn't match, but it's a very close match. It's padded so that the .025 aluminum on the front doesn't take such a beating from the little rocks and other road crap that kicks up. Easily removable with the snaps. Doug

It's very nice. I like that the colors are reversed and the 'smile' is white.

It seems to me that it should be called an 'apron' but I know that name was already taken for use on another auto part, which should have been called a goatee.

(PS. By the way, you were right, Doug. I'm not bringing my trailer.)
