I confess- I was lurking for some time, gleaning ideas.....
Then a cataclysmic event happened!
The motor in the "motor"home went kaput!
Well, having started in tent camping, then finding a steal on our motorhome, my wife and I, (now both over 50) just can't go back to "roughing it".
However, we just couldn't handle sleeping in a teardrop because of the tight quarters, even if we could get in and out of there.
So here's the solution - I found an 18' diameter teepee tent, and am building a "chuck-wagon" based loosely on the "Simple" design.
HF 4x8 trailer with 12" wheels, and I'm salvaging all the appliances I can from the old motorhome.
We just will not make do without running water, hot water, or a fridge.
I've fixed radars in the Marine Corps, spent several years in the propane business, a few years in construction, about a dozen years in the water treatment and plumbing trades, several years in computer repair, and have built several boats now. I think this is something within my capabilities. You can judge for yourself.
I will attempt to document the build as I go, but it will be going rather quickly.
HF trailer already assembled, 3/4" treated plywood already carriage-bolted to the frame, and coated with Kilz primer.
Hang on and don't blink, 'cuz this is going to fly by.....
Oh- and never tell a recovering alcoholic Marine "he can't" do something... always seen as a challenge instead of a warning.
