Hello my name is Mike and I am a lurker. After facing the shame of snooping thru this great site I faced the error of my ways and finally joined. I'm a little north of 55 and grew up taking the yearly family vacation, waking up to the smell of oily cancas and bacon. About 1963 or so the folks rented a pop up WOW we became part of the RV crowd. Next year a rented canned ham and the addiction was out of control. In the early 1970s my dad spent 3 years building a class C motorhome set it on a GMC chassis, retired and the folks hit the road on and off for 20 years.
Well, I told my wife building a TT was in my DNA. If for some reason we didn't build and travel in a home built/hand built unit of some kind it would break the second link in the short chain of family tradition, an could she live with herself if we didn't do all we could to fullfill our destiny? She asked me if I had lost my mind, but said it looks like lots of fun . So when we finally decide on a design, I hope the 2010 winter project is "THE BUILD".
THANK YOU ALL !!! for such a great site and all the insite it provides for us stary eyed newbies.
