You could always quit your job!

You had better start attending gatherings or we will have to demote you and take away your paddle.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

That doesn't work for me. That's two years in a row -- and let's not forget what happened last year. Bisteneau flooded. That was your fault.

Nope, you gotta come this year.

hey casey, we're thinking about making it next year. Is that a good time of the year to go all the way to Florida. Like no rain. ;) There are two or three of us talking about making it back there, maybe more.

I can't speak for Florida, but October is usually pleasant in Texas. Generally, the days are moderate, and the nights are cool for sleeping, but not too cold to be outside at night. September is usually hot and dry, and things cool off during October. It's not usually very rainy in October, but it does rain more in October compared to the very dry months of July through September. Of course last year, rain was plentiful in the weeks near LCG4. Bisteneau flooded. That was wetter than normal for October.

You will encounter some rain in October, but it usually passes through leaving some really nice days to be outdoors.

Driving through Texas is generally pretty easy that time of year, as snow and ice usually aren't a problem until after Christmas. You shouldn't have any major weather coming through West Texas, and across North Texas and into Louisiana on I-20. After Bisteneau, you can make your way down to I-10 and should have comfortable temperatures all the way to Florida.

Along most of the southern states, I think January to March are the winter storm months. That's definitely how it is here in North Texas.

I use words like "usually" and "generally" because you can never be sure around here. But, my two favorite camping months are October/November down here, for sure.

Maybe some other Southern state members can chime in. MaryK lives in the Florida panhandle.

I've just reserved #9, hope it doesn't flood. Now I'd better get busy building, hadn't I? Actually, I'm building the floor tomorrow and I've got until the end of October. Should be campable by then...

Butch,
Now I remember where I saw your post about LCG V. It was right above this one. If I don't see you sooner, I'll see you in Louisianna in October.
