Just because you can do a thing doesn’t mean you should do that thing. It looks like quite a bit of work just to be able to say I told you I could build a car out of wood!

Re: "Just because you can do a thing . . ." There was an article on this project in Wood Magazine a couple years ago. As I recall the thrust of the project was to explore new and different uses for wood and wood products. It was more than just "I told you I could." I, too, thought it a little over the top at the time. But the more I read and the more I thought about it, the more I began to understand it. The more I work with wood and the more I learn about its properties, the more capable I become as a craftsman and the more creative I can be with it. $.02

I agree, you need such "Concorde moments" to push things and come up with new solutions. I'm sure someone said that putting a motor to a kite wouldn't lead to anything back in the early 20th century. :)
