So how long do you consider a "haul"? Like all others have mentioned it has it's problems. You can use it for a substrate like Gage's, but unless you REALLY are meticulous on sealing with a top skin, IE aluminum, it won't work for you and it doesn't like to bend very well at all. It wouldn't work at all for a painted surface tear without some top skin, I wouldn't waste epoxy on trying to make it happen, just get the better material. I'm sure someone will prove me wrong on that statement. Oh well....

While Gage shows the issues that occur with it, not counting the fact that it doesn't hold a fastener worth a damn, his trailer IS in the neighborhood of 40 years old, so it can be done, and may hold up if you live in a fairly dry environment. Regardless of that...If'n it were me...I'd just get some better materials from the get go. The savings you may have on a cheap piece of material will be offset with the time/effort/ materials in sealing it and headaches down the road. You will also get more structural integrity with a decent piece of ply and that's what we are shooting for...a torsion box. Just my opinion. Doug

there is an MDF product marketed under the name MEDEX.. it is waterproof. we use it in sink base cabinets, vanities and other things that might get wet. I cut a 4 inch square and soaked it in a bucket for a week with no measurable swelling..

As I mentioned the other thread this type of particle board is particularly heavy – about 100 Lb for a ¾ inch thick 4X8 panel – there is lighter stuff out there!

and I think Doug's other points are well taken (especially the bending etc.)
