Hello From South Texas

Postby MrBigAxe » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:33 pm

I live on South Texas Gulf Coast. I do not have a trailer yet. I am here for research at this point. After spending about 10 minutes on this forum, I had already seen some good ideas, so I figured I would register.

My goal is to build/modify a trailer that will be able to be pulled by over rough terrain. When I decide to get away, I want to really get away. But I want to sleep indoors and have air conditioning and heat. The problem is that most off-road trailers are not built to sleep in and most travel trailers are not built to be pulled across abusive terrain. It's a tall order, but it's been done many times.

Here are some pictures of the direction I am headed.

But it will need to be able to be pulled over terrain more like this.

The main reason I am here is to get ideas concerning air conditioning, heating, and finishing the inside of the trailer. I've got a pretty good job ahead of me, but I doubt I will even start the build in the next year.

So, who here has capable off-road trailers?

Aw, you need to contact Dave & Louise. They are members here but sorry, I can't think of their handle. And they haven't been on the board for a while. They are into extreme off roading and with their tear.

Remember 'Teardrop Time'.......Take your time, you don't have to have it finished NOW.
