I bought windows from Grant you know the sliders. There is a gasket installed as part of the window. Is that all the gasket material you should need? Is adding a foam strip around it advisable?

I believe your asking if there needs to be something between the backside of the window flange and the sidewall of the teardrop. If so, I've seen some use butyl tape and others use some type of sealant from a tube or caulk gun.

Please note that I am not speaking from experience, but am relaying what I've seen. (Hopefully in about two weeks I'll be installing my windows.)

I may change my mind, but right now I'm leaning toward using 3M 4200 marine sealant. This stuff is expensive, but a little goes a long way. I've used it on my trim and seams in my aluminum sheeting. The other downside, besides cost, is that when you open a tube, you have to use it in a fairly short time - I believe 24 hours.

butyl tape on the flange would work , alot of older camper shells had butyl tape on just about every seam and opening, the stuff really sticks well to just about anything, anyone who has tried to remove windows or lights from an old camper or camper shell can tell you the stuff sticks really good.
