That is MY way of thinkin....besides, I really like to "rescue" vintage stuff. It's value is increased if it's original. Soon enough it will all be gone and iof WE don't rescue it and keep it original...they'll all be GONE forever !

Now, I don't mind convertin one if I have one in original condition already...but even then I hate to molest an antique.

Oh my, he's afflicted alright.

BTW, my two finds should be arriving in the mail soon! I scored a big hat Sears and my Xmas tree 200A.

I also found a used coleman grill and burner stove I wanted (gently used) for half the price of retail (including shipping) w00t!

Hugs,

"I" got it BAD !!! Today Iw as helpin the next door neighbor with his new toy ( a riding lawnmower ) and we was cleanin out thwe shed in order to put IT in there....Lo & Behold...TWO Coleman lanturns !!! ( As the sky opens and the Angels sing )

The first is a Red,single mantle, (with a bulbous globe) Model 200A born Feb 1953 !!

Then there is a Green, dual mantle, Model 220F the daye is a bit obscure, but as best as "I" can tell, it looks like May 1971...fer sum reason, it looks MUCH older...anybody have any idea when the220F was made ?

I cleaned up the 200A with sum FINE steel wool to git the GUNK off it...bein careful to not scratch the paint. The globe has a piece broke out of it on the top, but ya can't tell till ya take the top off.

So, I gathered up all my lanturns and here is the list:

Red, Model 200A, single mantle with bulbous globe, born2/53

(TWO) Green, Model 200E, dual mantle , born 4/56 That's TWO of those!

Green, Model 200 E,dual mantle, born 1/58

Green, Model 5120,single mantle, bulbous globe..takes the ( now outlawed) cannisters,born 1/65

Green,Model 5101,single mantle,NO globe??,birth date unknown, takes the same cannister. Has just the "cage" fer a base.

I dunno WHO it was that started the "vintage" campin eqpt thread...but when I find HIM...he's in BIG trouble !!! Cause I'm now up to SEVEN of these thangs !! ( including my new one that takes the propane bottle)

"I" dunno WHERE I'm gonna put the next one....

Ahh I do believe their names are Doug and Jeremy! Don't be too hard on them. For they know not what they do, or do they? Your 220F dated from 1964-1973. Here is a handy site for dating stoves and lanterns.
