Firefox is WAY slower than Safari on my mac, so I dumped it...Maybe I should do search for "Safari vs Chrome" on Google.

Last time I checked (albeit its been awhile) they did not have a version of Chrome yet for the MAC platform, only PC.

AL.

Yeah, they have it for Mac.

The benchmark tests seem to show Safari and Chrome pretty darn close for speed. Some reviewers say Safari is faster, while others say Chrome is faster.

They all say Chrome is easier on memory, but I have plenty of memory.

Firefox has the most "add-ons," but since I don't currently use ANY add-ons or plug-ins, it really doesn't mean much to me. Firefox is just too slow, and it just doesn't seem to be as intuitive as Safari. I just never could quite like Firefox.

Chrome vs Potato.

It is comparing rendering speed. Download speed still depends on your internet connection. It's not real scientific, but it's a cool video.
It's not fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Google Chrome

Postby Larry C » Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:02 am

Maybe somebody can help me with a browser question...

I have Verizon DSL and it comes with the Verizon browser and MSN Explorer which is the same browser I used when I had MSN dial-up.

This made the transition easy going to Verizon DSL as all my favorites (bookmarks) and contacts, home page are exactly the same as my old Dial-up connection.

I have tried different browsers, but I can't figure out how to export my bookmarks and contacts from MSN Explorer.

I just downloaded Chrome to try and the prompts asked if I wanted to import my data to Chrome, however, the drop down list only shows Internet explorer as my browser, which I don't use. MSN Explorer is not included in the list.

I have tried to transfer data in the past from MSN browser to other browsers, but I can't get it to work. Any suggestions?? Sorry to be so computer challenged, I'm learning.........

Here's my MSN browser:

Larry, since MSN Explorer and MS Internet Explorer are both Microsoft browsers, can you import your MSM Explorer data into MS Internet Explorer, and then from MS Internet Explorer into Chrome?

Thanks, Casey..

I wish it was that easy. There is no direct method to export from MSN Explorer to IE.

I did try this lengthy totorial and download:

http://www.pchell.com/support/exportmsnfavorites.shtml

I successfully got this far and got an error message??

"Run the MSN Favorite Export Program
Once you have both the Favorites.XML file and the MSN Favorites Export toolkit in the same folder, double-click on the Msnfav.vbs file to start the export process.
When the process is complete, there should be a new file called bookmark.htm in the folder."

I tried the download "Read Me" instructions, but the fixes didn't work either??

I tried Chrome when it first came out, and was underwhelmed. Then, when I started using Photobucket a lot, I found IE would crash about 3 out of 4 tries. It doesn't crash on my laptop, so it is probably some tweak needed on my desktop. Anyway, out of frustration I loaded up Chrome again. It doesn't crash on anything I use. It is all I use anymore, on both my systems.
God Bless
