composite teardrop

Postby Chas » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:02 pm

Hello all. I work in composites, mostly small aircraft. I became intrigued with teardrop trailers and decided to see what I could do as a designer. I am nearing completion of an all composite trailer (well the tongue is steel) and it looks like it will weigh less than 300 pounds. I'm looking forward to the observations from this community. You may follow my progress at:

I promise to post images soon here.

Their web site is "alive and well" but their phone is disconnected. Well, I'll be a xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx(I'll leave others to fill in the blanks, ha).

I think I know who's next and from the "common sense" you write, I don't think it will be you.

Cheers,

Gus

Welcome to T&TTT, Chas.

Always good to see an effort at innovation. Lighter would be great for those of us with 4-cyl engines.

The website worked fine for me:

I got a few e mails that I came down hard
for what is showed the big RV builders with $1,000,000 to spend on R&D cant make it work
compost fail different than ply wood you can see it hear it
Do you a have a x ray to see if its failing apart do you even know what a tap hammer is
What about liability ins if it falls apart. with a few changes it be a safe trailer
You get stuck if the builder has no Ins
We have a $5,000,000 just on are fenders
When you see someone try to sell there prototype before it built mean they have no cash no ins they need your deposit to finish so you will be the one to see if it wont fall apart and if it dose you get sued if it hurt some one
Will be taking deposit and we all know where that leads
It's thing they need to think about we do prototypes and I seen this show 100 s of times
All this can be work out
