I've been shown this site so many times for good idea's on trailer design, I figured it was time to join.

I'm currently collecting some of the materials I need to get a trailer together. Hopefully over the winter I can get started on a build!!!

Welcome aboard...now is the time to gather parts and start building so you're all ready next spring....I always start gathering and thinking about this time of year.....kinda like a squirrel gathering nuts. When spring comes around....I'm camping in style! Doug

Hi there,
Welcome to the madness as they say here. I'm Manitoba-born, but live in Minnesota now. Started my build this May, but progress is slow with this being my busy time of year. Oh well...some progress is better than no progress. Would love to get up to the Winnipeg Folk Festival next summer with my completed tear.
Have you picked a design to build? If you have questions, there are many experienced builders here to help answer them. Good luck with your build.
Take care,
Lil M.

Hi mjolnir from Edmonton.

Welcome to the site. I'm sure you probably know of Princess Auto, it's a good source for an axle and trailer gear - pretty much all utility though. From what I have found (around here anyway) windows are waaaay cheaper to order from the states. I can get two plus shipping for less than one up here. Kijiji is usually a pretty good resource for parts too - stoves, fridges and those sorts of things.

Looking forward to seeing what you are building.

Princess Auto is my favorite store

And I always scour Kijiji for good deals.

Thanks for the tips, I wouldn't have thought of going to the states for windows (it's a really easy drive down there for me)

I live about 5 miles from the folk-fest site :) I don't have many questions yet. But I'm sure from reading the forum any questions will get answered before I can even ask

Haven't been up there in over 10 years. Last time was up to the end of the Gun Flint Trail for a canoe trip into the BWCAC on Seagull Lake right after the sheer winds went through and took out a lot of trees. It IS gorgeous country!

And 5 miles from Folk Fest. Might have to ask for some festival tips when the time gets closer. If you need a Murken address to ship the windows to, I might be able to help. @250 mi. from Wpg tho.

Hi mjolnir

Only 5 miles from folk fest . Have you ever been? It seems every year I meet someone who has lived just a few miles away all their life and never been before. Even I didn't go until after I moved away from Wpg. Been going for over 20 years now.

When I built my tear I got some things at Princess Auto - fenders, taillights, tongue jack. They don't carry much in RV parts.
I got my windows, hurricane hinge, t-moulding and some other parts from Grant at Lil Bear. I am happy with the price, quality and service.

If you're building a 10 ft the only place I could find 4x10 plywood was at Windsor Plywood. They also have a excellent selection of 1/8" plywood and baltic birch.

If you do the Kenora / Fort / Thunder Bay trip and it takes you through Dryden stop in and say hi. I have a little shop on the highway on the west side of town.
