Get a brush and roller and spend 3 weeks painting the outside of your house.

110 no problem

OR, get on your bike and ride in it. Commute to work and everywhere else by bike.

(It's an Arizona thing. We have an interesting relationship with our monster sun here.)

Your house looks great by the way.

Yeah, but it's dry heat, eh?

It's been averaging 106 here for the last week, and I'm not doing any painting, here. I don't want to go outside. I did, however, photograph 9 cars for a client yesterday, and drank two big bottles of water while doing it.

At least it's only been 25-percent humidity here, which is probably really humid for you. Thats low for us. You run about, what, 10-15 percent humidity?

My dad lives in Houston, where it only got to 98 today -- with 54 percent humidity. Try that out, sometime. The only word that can describe Houston during a heat wave is "oppressive."

CD

BTW, record heat for Phoenix for this day is 116. You aren't even close at 110.

Looking at the grey hair on you, I would expect you to prefer a "whiter shade of pale."

Ah yes, I leiu of airconditioning my 1800 square foot, 4 bedroom house, since I am now living alone, I have installed a great in-the-wall, AC unit that cools my living room and kitchen to 70 degrees. No problem, I am comfortable watching HD TV in mid-afternoon, with 95 degree temps outside and cooking dinner late in the evening and sacking out later at about 11 AM, when things cool off, here in So Calilf.

There ain't no way, I would go outside right now and try painting the house. Looks like it would be a late-in-the-evening job. Just my 2 cents. (Hey, where is the "cents key" on my keyboard?)

My keyboard doesn't have any cents either, Roly. Some say I don't.

To get this: ¢

Press the ALT key and while holding it down, type in 0162.

Easy to remember, huh?

When it is that hot, most animals and smart people shade-up!

What do your paint application instructions say about application at fission level temperatures?
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Um, did you say 70 degrees? I am running the AC in my 1,620 square foot house at 80 degrees so I don't have to borrow money to pay the electricity bill. You must have won the lottery.

Charles built a fence in our triple digits Tues and Wed. Our neighbor kept looking out the window to make sure he was still working. She said if she saw him laid out on the ground she was gonna drag him into the shade and pour water down his throat.

The fence wasn't in our plans but when 5 Sheriff cars chased and caught 2 thieves halfway up our driveway we decided it was time to put our gate down at the highway.

Hope everyone stays safe out in this heat

In our area this Summer we have had 43 days over 90 and 12 days over 100.

But we have high Humidity that makes it Brutal.

I've been starting work at 4am.

Napping during the heat of the day and don't go back outside till about 8-8;30 PM.

If I go out during the day its only to go in the Pool.

Which recently hasn't been much relief as the water temp has been around 90 degrees as well.

I'm kind of the unofficial Heat Watch Dog for about 6 elderly neighbors on the street.

I've got one old gentleman who has the right idea. In the summer he moves into his finished Basement and only comes out at night.

Every time I check in on him He perks up and he offers me a Beer. He loves to see me come over because as he puts it "Drinking alone is bad"

He's my Favorite.

I'm running away this weekend camping in the mountains where the weather forecast is for temps to be in the mid 80's in the Days and the night time lows in the upper 50's.

I have forgotten how to dress for those temps.

Happy Trails

Len

Not much of a problem in foggy Eureka CA. Our typical summer day high temp is around 60 to 65 degrees.
